hi, everyone,
I just installed the CLC, CC by using Ubuntu 10.04 server, I install eucalyptus components during the installation of ubuntu. and now I want to install eucalyptus nc component on my NCs by using CentOS (by using binary packages),
CLC, CC ===> Ubuntu 10.04 server
NCs ==> CentOS binary packages
becuase it is very easy to install xen on CentOS. But now I can not register nodes on the CC . And I find in UEC edtion there exist a serivce named eucalyptus-nc-publication (in /etc/init.d/), but in CentOS edition there exit no such a service. As you know UEC is a bit different from the official eucalyptus( e.g. UEC has its onw conf file ecualyptus.local.conf)..
Now I don't know could I mix the two editions together and let them work smoothly .
Hello,
the UEC is using some clever method to autoregister the NCs, which will obviously not work with CentOS. I suspect you need to tell UEC to not use autoregistration and then register the NCs yourself by hand. We have a sticky with some UEC links which may contains extra information on howto do that. I think once you do that, you should be able to register the NCs.
keep us posted on your progress and on what you need to do to get it working.
cheers
