can anyone tell me howmany NC can be can be controlled by one CC.

does this depend on the network mode and configuration of CC.

I think I can install any many as possible NCs under one CC if the IP addresses are enough.

Hello,

it is a difficult question, since it depends on your usage. We tested with a fairly high number of NCs (few hundreds, then we ran our of machines) and we used mock users and very small images. How many NCs are you planning on?

cheers

CC bottleneck

Hello mymq0206,

We really haven't encountered a hard limit on the number of NCs that a CC can manage. We have tested with several thousand and while the system response deteriorates to the point where internal timeouts start to go off, the CC remains operational. The CC uses an eventually consistent discovery protocol that becomes increasingly conservative as system response slows. Thus the "scale" of the system hinges on how long you are willing to wait while the eventual consistency becomes actual consistency.

Thanks so much for your interest in Eucalyptus.
